Press Release

MoonFu Launches The World’s First Vertical TV Series That Makes Your Phone Safe For The Whole Family

Are you a parent worried about what your kids might stumble into online? Do you want a phone you can hand to your child without bracing for impact – a safe screen in a world that feels increasingly unsafe?

MoonFu is the answer: an animated adventure series that’s G‑rated, mom‑approved, and genuinely fun for the whole family. It’s also the first prosocial vertical series designed to bridge kids (ages 6–11) and Gen Z.

MoonFu (the lead character) is a karate-loving, jetpack-wearing, disco-dancing owl prince that takes you on a wild ride where you can:

1. Improve conflict resolution.

2. Increase your emotional IQ.

3. Boost critical thinking.

Created by filmmaker and bestselling author David Santo, “MoonFu” fills a glaring gap in children’s entertainment. “There’s a huge need for shows that promote positive behavior,” Santo explains. “MoonFu delivers life lessons wrapped in action and fun.”

When asked to compare MoonFu to something, David continued. “The show is along the lines of ‘KungFu Panda’ but with talking owls.”

MoonFu is set in the fantastical realm of Featherfell, and follows the young prince against the backdrop of treachery when his malevolent father, King Talon, schemes to steal a life-giving diamond that keeps a secret society of owls alive.

Upon discovering this, MoonFu must choose between serving his kingdom or saving an entire civilization in this epic coming-of-age journey.

The story also features an amazing cast of characters including the wise Sensei Hoot, and MoonFu’s sidekick, Flicker.

MoonFu is part of an expansive storyverse that encompasses books, TV, film, music, and merchandise. Santo gushed. “The MoonFu book reached #1 on Amazon Kindle. And I’ve already adapted that book into a screenplay and it won 1st place in 10 film festivals!”

Santo coined the term ‘Emotional Self-Defense’ to make learning feel like play. And the MoonFu Studio website is packed with testimonials from people who agree.

With its unique blend of adventure, humor, and emotional depth, “MoonFu” is poised to entertain, inspire and transform. It’s not just fun-for-the-whole-family, it’s fuel for the heart, mind, and soul.

Director’s Statement

David Santo

Founder, MoonFu Studio

MoonFu was born from the animated shows of the ’90s and 2000s – the kind of shows that radiated relentless optimism.

I miss it more than I expected.

There’s something deeply human about gathering around a story the whole family can share, an adventure built on hope, love, redemption, and the belief that we can overcome what scares us.

That kind of storytelling shaped me.

At its core, MoonFu is a story about how we build a good family – not the perfect kind, but the real kind. The kind held together by small acts of courage, quiet moments of doubt, and the choice to keep showing up for each other even when it’s hard.

MoonFu isn’t just a project. It’s a promise I’m making to myself and to anyone who needs it: that family still matters, that hope still matters, and that stories – especially the ones the mainstream media no longer makes – can remind us of who we are and what we’re capable of.

I’m a 47-time award-winning screenwriter, producer, and director. I’m also a best-selling author and I’ve been interviewed in FOX, NBC, CBS online. Forbes Magazine even gave me a shoutout in an issue that celebrated outstanding people and projects.

I have 4 produced movies.
